Innovative Work:
The Mungunaguda village of Doloiguda Gram Panchayat is situated 9 kms away from the block head quarters, Semiliguda. There are 37 households in the village All the villagers are belongs to Kondha Tribe, who are in under Below Poverty line.
The Kondha tribes residing in village Mungunaguda do not have access to grid power and use Kerosene for lighting: Kerosene rations are supplied through government outlets once in a week at Semiliguda hat.
The light produced by Kerosene lamps are neither bright nor clean and does not adequately support reading and working. Further each liter of Kerosene generates 2.6 Kgs of Carbon Dioxide .
For the villagers life comes to a grinding halt at sunset – with no electricity , there is no light , so no ability to work or study or play. Having spent the major part of the day in the fields , the villagers can do little in the darkness . There is no light for children to study or for any family entertainment
OBJECTIVES :
To provide clean and reliable lighting to 37 tribal households.
To introduce LED Lighting units and communities based maintenance plan.
To trained 4 village youth on minor repair and maintenance of LED light.
To eliminate burning of fossil fuel products: Candle and Kerosene lamps,thus protecting the environment.
To help the village children / youth to get better education.
